Our Detailed Review of This Card

Apply for This Card

The Wells Fargo Platinum card is a good choice for anyone who wants to pay no annual fee and avoid interest for a year and a half! That’s because this card offers an 18-month 0% intro APR on purchases and qualifying balance transfers. Having such a long 0% intro APR period means you have ample time to pay down any balance(s) you transfer from another card or any purchases you make with the card. If you’re transferring your balance(s) over from other high-APR cards, note that there is an intro balance transfer fee of 3% for 120 days ($5 minimum), after that period it’s 5% ($5 minimum) — this means you’ll want to initiate the transfer sooner rather than later. Although this balance transfer fee might seem like a lot, it is a pretty standard rate and when you compare it to your current interest rate, you could still save a substantial amount of money on interest fees in the long run.

On top of that, this card comes with cell phone protection of up to $600 per claim against covered damage or theft. It’s easy to take advantage of this benefit: all you have to do is pay your monthly cell phone bill with your Wells Fargo Platinum card. There is a maximum of 2 claims per year and you are responsible for a $25 deductible per claim, but if you have been known to break or lose a mobile phone or two, this is a terrific benefit.

Overall, the Wells Fargo Platinum card is best for those looking for an 18-month 0% intro APR card with no annual fee and a unique added perk.
