If you are looking to repair your credit, Lexington Law is your best bet. It has a proven track record of successfully disputing derogatory items from credit reports and has scored an "A-" rating from the Better Business Bureau, making it one of the top-rated credit repair services we reviewed.

Lexington Law offers a simple, three-tiered pricing structure. First, you get a free consultation that includes a summary of your credit report and scores as well as recommended solutions. If you decide to sign up, you pay an initial fee of $99.95 (this cost varies depending on the state you live in) to get things started. After that, your cost per month depends on which of Lexington Law's three service packages you choose.

The Concord Standard package costs $89.95/month and includes credit bureau challenges as well as debt validation requests, goodwill interventions with creditors and escalated information requests. If you would like credit report monitoring along with your credit repair service, Lexington Law offers the Concord Premier package for $109.95/month, which also includes credit score analysis reports. The PremierPlus package costs $129.95/month and includes everything from the Concord Standard and Concord Premier packages, as well as identity theft protection insurance, cease and desist letters and other personal finance tools. You can cancel the service at any time.

Lexington Law also offers a discount for friends and family that allows you and another person to receive $50 off your initial fees when you sign up within 72 hours of each other. Some other services offer a couples discount, but this is the only service we've seen that offers a discount to someone who is not your partner.

So how does Lexington Law work? Once you pay your initiation fee, Lexington Law helps you get your credit report, and then you can decide which derogatory items you want to contest. Lexington Law will then prepare the proper legal paperwork to contest the derogatory items. When disputing those items, it will send letters to the three credit bureaus that clearly dispute the negative information in your credit report. Each credit bureau then has 30 days to investigate and authenticate the negative information with the credit companies. If they cannot authenticate the information, it must be removed from your credit report. Lexington Law also offers a free Credit Education section that can assist users in understanding their credit and find other ways to raise their credit score, and the paralegal that is assigned to your case will talk with you about other ways to improve your credit, no matter which package you signed up for.

With so many illegitimate credit repair companies promising results they can't deliver, credit repair can be a tricky business. The good news is that Lexington Law is one of the oldest, largest and most respected credit repair services, and it swears by the legality of its practices. It is completely transparent about the laws around credit repair, and even posts the rules and regulations from the FTC on its site. Lexington Law also has an "A-" rating from the Better Business Bureau, although it is not accredited by the BBB.

Customer Service

Once you start using the service, Lexington Law will refer you to a paralegal who will work with you on your case. If you haven't signed up for the service or have other questions that don't have anything to do with your case, Lexington Law also provides online chat, email and a phone number (7 a.m. to midnight ET, seven days a week) for all other customer service questions, although the email almost always directs you to call a paralegal instead of giving you an answer. Although the paralegals are friendly and courteous, they are not shy about trying to get you to sign up for the service.

Lexington Law is the most credible credit repair service that we reviewed. Its team of law experts have been working with the credit bureaus for over 20 years, so they know what they're doing. It's a little pricier than other services, but the professionalism and transparency that Lexington Law offers are definitely worth it.
