U.S. Bank Visa® Platinum Card Review

Our Detailed Review of This Card

Apply for This Card

The U.S. Bank Visa® Platinum Card features a generous 0% intro APR for both purchases and balance transfers. It also comes with some extra perks, but the card does require excellent credit, which is generally considered to be credit score above 750. If you think you may not qualify, take a look at the Wells Fargo Platinum Visa Card, which offers similar benefits and requires good to excellent credit (generally considered a credit score of 700 or higher).

With a generous 18-month 0% intro APR on balance transfers and purchases, U.S. Bank Visa® Platinum Card holders can consolidate their credit card debt onto this card and not pay interest for well over a year. Although there is a balance transfer fee of 3% of each transfer or $5, whichever is greater, the balance transfer fee is likely a lot cheaper than the ongoing interest you pay on your current credit card, making the transfer worthwhile. You can also make small or large purchases during the first 18 billing cycles and not pay a dime of interest — giving you some breathing room to pay down your balance.

Additional card perks include cell phone protection if you pay your mobile phone bill with your card (up to $600 with a $25 deductible, for up to 2 claims per year), rental car insurance and the ability to pick your payment due date. Combine this with no annual fee and you've got a smart choice.

Overall, the U.S. Bank Visa® Platinum Card is a good pick for anyone with excellent credit looking for a 0% intro APR card for both purchases and balance transfers. The added benefits and no annual fee make this card even more appealing.
