The Amex EveryDay® Credit Card from American Express (a NextAdvisor advertiser) is one of our top-rated balance transfer cards, making it perfect for anyone who wants to take advantage of a generous 0% intro APR on balance transfers and purchases - along with the opportunity to pay nothing to transfer your balance - to help save some serious cash. We really like this card because it combines terrific balance transfer benefits with impressive ongoing rewards and Amex perks that used to only be associated with other more prestigious Amex cards - all without an annual fee.

To start, users will enjoy a lengthy 15-month 0% intro APR on both purchases and balance transfers. AND if you transfer your balance in the first 60 days from account opening, there are absolutely no balance transfer fees. You do need request to transfer your balance within the first 60 days though, as no balance transfers are allowed after that time period. This is a big money-saving deal, as these fees typically range from 3% to 5% of what you're transferring. The 0% intro period on purchases is another huge benefit because it means you won't pay any interest fees in the first 15 months you have the card. Another way to think about it is as a 15-month, interest-free loan on the purchases you make, a very appealing perk, especially if you are able to pay off your purchases prior to the end of the intro period.

Not only does The Amex EveryDay® Credit Card from American Express offer top-notch balance transfer perks, but it also earns some great ongoing rewards. Cardholders will earn 2 Membership Rewards points per $1 spent at U.S. supermarkets (on up to $6,000 annually in purchases, then it's 1%), and 1 Membership Rewards point per dollar spent on everything else. On top of that, if you use your card to make 20 or more purchases in a billing period - something that's easy to do if you use it as your primary card - you'll get 20% more points on those purchases. This means if you've earned 1,000 points, it will automatically become 1,200 points. Additionally, you'll get 10,000 bonus points after spending $1,000 on purchases in the first 3 months - worth $100 if you redeem them for flights via American Express Travel.

The Membership Rewards points you earn with The Amex EveryDay® Credit Card from American Express can be redeemed for travel, entertainment, dining, online shopping and merchandise. They can also be transferred to travel program partners, or used toward eligible card charges on your statement, giving you more flexibility in the way you use your points. Historically, these points have only been available to American Express' charge cards, and not its credit cards, so the fact you can earn them with the The Amex EveryDay® Credit Card from American Express is a big deal. Point redemption values vary, depending upon what you choose. The best bang for your buck is to use them to book flights through American Express Travel, which values them at $0.01 per point. Another good option is to transfer them at a 1:1 value to participating airline and hotel reward programs, where you can usually find some good deals, further increasing your point value. Less optimal choices include redeeming them against charges on your statement ($0.006 per point) or spending them at ($0.007 per point).

Overall, The Amex EveryDay® Credit Card from American Express is our top-rated balance transfer card and a great choice for anyone who wants the benefits that come with an Amex card - like Membership Rewards points, purchase protection and car rental insurance - without paying an annual fee. Plus, users can take advantage of the outstanding 15-month 0% intro APR on purchases and balance transfers and the $0 intro balance transfer fee to avoid paying interest on any balance they're currently carrying.
