Let’s face it, we’re not perfect and sometimes we lose or misplace our credit cards. Citi has a solution for those not-so-perfect moments called Quick Lock. This feature allows you instantly lock your card if you lose or misplace it, then immediately unlock it when you find it — similar to Discover’s Freeze it feature. Placing a lock on your card blocks your account from new purchases and cash advances from going through, while still allowing recurring transactions, payments, balance transfers and account credits to continue without disruption.

How do I use Quick Lock?

You can use Quick Lock on your computer or mobile device. To access it on a computer, you’ll want to select “Account Management” at the top of the page, then click on “Misplace Your Card? Lock it,” which will bring you a screen that looks like the image below. Here you can easily lock and unlock any of the cards associated with your account, as well as report it as lost if you think your card was permanently lost or stolen.

If you’re using the Citi mobile app, you’ll want to click on the three lines in the top left corner, select “Manage Your Cards,” then click “Lock Credit Card.” You will then be able to lock and unlock any of the cards linked to your account as well as call Citi customer service to report your card as permanently lost or stolen — Citi conveniently includes the phone number at the bottom of the Quick Lock page.

Which Citi credit cards have this feature?

All Citi credit cards are now equipped with the Quick Lock feature, and as you can see from the screenshots above, you’re able to easily access multiple cards at once. If you’re in the market for a new Citi credit card, here are some of the best options:

Best for 0% intro APRs

Whether you’re looking for a card to complete a balance transfer (remember you can’t do it within the same bank) or you’re looking for a card with a long 0% intro APR on purchases, these are the Citi cards for you.

Citi Simplicity Card – No Late Fees Ever

Citi Simplicity® Card - No Late Fees EverIf you’re looking for a card with a long 0% intro APR on purchases and balance transfers, you don’t need to look anymore because the Citi Simplicity Card – No Late Fees Ever (a NextAdvisor advertiser) has a 21-month 0% intro APR for balance transfers made in the first 4 months and a 12-month 0% intro APR on purchases. While you will have to pay a rather high 5% balance transfer fee for every transfer you complete ($5 minimum), it’s likely the one-time fee is much less than the interest you’ll pay on your current credit card for the next 21 months. Other perks of the Citi Simplicity Card – No Late Fees Ever are no late fees, no penalty rate and no annual fee — ever! Rounding out the card is a free monthly FICO score.

Best for cash back

Citi Double Cash Card

Citi® Double Cash Card — 18 month BT offerThe Citi Double Cash Card gives you a unique way to earn cash back, as you earn it twice for every purchase. You’ll get an unlimited 1% when you make a purchase and an additional 1% when you pay for that purchase, which makes it a great card for someone who wants to be rewarded for making payments to their credit card. Although there is no 0% intro APR on purchases, the Citi Double Cash Card has an 18-month 0% intro APR on balance transfers (with a 3% balance transfer fee, $5 minimum). Unfortunately, the 1% cash back on payments doesn’t apply to balance transfers, but the year and a half of no interest is a pretty sweet deal. On top of access to a free Equifax FICO score every month, cardholders do not have to pay an annual fee.
