Cardholders who fly with Delta will receive 20% savings on eligible pre-purchased meals and eligible in-flight purchases of food, alcoholic beverages and audio headsets. They’ll also get priority boarding on Delta flights and check their first bag for free. Additionally, the Platinum Delta SkyMiles Business Credit Card comes with a whole host of travel perks, including a baggage insurance plan, travel accident insurance, access to a roadside assistance hotline and car rental loss and damage insurance. The card also has no foreign transaction fees. There’s a slightly high $195 annual fee, but the card’s rewards and perks will likely make it worthwhile for business owners that are loyal to Delta. Rounding out the card are expense management tools that will allow you to keep tabs on your employees’ spending, set account alerts, connect to Quickbooks and more.

Are there any downsides?

The Platinum Delta SkyMiles Business Credit Card has two downsides: it has a hefty annual fee and its redemption options are rather limited. If you want the perks of a Delta-branded card, but don’t want the higher annual fee, look into the Gold Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express. This card doesn’t offer all of the rewards of its high-end sister card, but it does have a 30,000 bonus mile opportunity, a $50 statement credit offer and a $0 intro annual fee for the first year (after that, it’s $95).

Those looking for a business card with both a lower annual fee and flexible redemption options should consider the Capital One Spark Miles for Business credit card. With this card, you’ll earn a 50,000-mile bonus after you spend $4,500 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening and an easy 2 miles per $1 spent on every purchase, every day. Miles can be redeemed for travel, cash back, gift cards and more, but it should be noted that miles redeemed for travel hold the most value. The Capital One Spark Miles for Business card also has no foreign transaction fees and a $0 intro annual fee for the first year (after that, it’s $95).

Should you apply for the Platinum Delta SkyMiles Business card?

If you or your employees do a lot of traveling and you only fly with Delta, the Platinum Delta SkyMiles Business Credit Card will likely make sense for your business. That said, if you aren’t a fan of the annual fee or somewhat limited redemption options, consider the lower-fee Delta-branded card or the Capital One Spark Miles for Business card detailed above.
