When it comes to a 0% intro APR period, the longer the better, and anyone considering the Wells Fargo Platinum Visa Card is in for a treat because it just extended its 0% intro APR period from 15 months to 18 months! That’s 18 months of 0% intro APR on both purchases and balance transfers, making it a good choice for those who want to make a large purchase and have time to pay it off as well as those who want to transfer a balance. Want to learn more about what this card has to offer? Keep reading to get all the details and see if it’s the right fit for you.

What makes the Wells Fargo Platinum Visa Card a solid choice?

In addition to the whopping 18 months of 0% intro APR on both purchases and balance transfers that we already mentioned, this credit card does not charge an annual fee. There is an intro balance transfer fee to note if you plan to use this card to consolidate your existing credit card balance(s), which is equal to 3% for the first 18 months (increasing to 5% afterward). If you’d prefer not to pay a balance transfer fee, you might want to consider the BankAmericard Credit Card, which features a $0 intro balance transfer fee for transfers completed in the first 60 days of account opening (after that, it’s 3% or $5, whichever is greater) — though keep in mind its 0% intro APR period is only 15 months and you must transfer the balance within the first 60 days to get the 0% intro APR on balance transfers. Something to note about the Barclaycard Ring Mastercard is that it’s only available to those with excellent credit. The Wells Fargo Platinum Visa Card also charges 3% foreign transaction fees, so keep that in mind if you plan to use it outside the U.S.

Other features of this card include free access to your FICO credit score through your Wells Fargo online account and tools to help you track and manage your spending, so you can stay on top of your finances. The biggest perk besides the 0% intro APR offer, however, is cellular telephone protection. As long as you pay your mobile phone bill with your Wells Fargo Platinum Visa Card, you can get reimbursed for damage or theft up to $600 per claim, a maximum of 2 times per year. There is a $25 deductible per claim, but considering how costly replacing or repairing a phone can be, this is a terrific benefit.

Overall, if you’re someone looking to transfer a balance or make a large purchase and pay no interest for 18 months, the Wells Fargo Platinum Visa Card is a good choice.
