Q:  Does the Chase Freedom Visa card have a foreign transaction fee? If so, what is it?

A:  The Chase Freedom card does have a foreign transaction fee of 3% of each transaction in U.S. dollars. Although this is a great card with substantial benefits, if you’re going to be travelling extensively overseas and need a card that doesn’t charge foreign transaction fees, check out the Barclay Arrival Plus World Elite Mastercard.

Barclay Arrival Plus World Elite Mastercard – our number rated one travel card – doesn’t charge a fee for foreign transactions and features a 40,000 bonus miles (equal to $400!!) when you spend $3,000 in the first 3 months. Plus, you’ll earn 2 miles per dollar on all purchases AND an additional 5% point bonus when you spend your miles on travel. That means if you redeem 1,000 miles for travel, an extra 50 miles will be deposited into your Rewards bank.
