Best for those who know exactly what they are looking for and want do-it-yourself forms; largest variety of forms
Full Review:
If all you want is do-it-yourself forms and you know exactly which forms you are looking for, US Legal Forms is a good place to find them. They have the largest number of forms available, but their confusing interface may make it hard to find the form you want.

Pricing

It's hard to compare US Legal Forms pricing to other legal services because it would be like comparing apples and oranges. Most of the features that US Legal Forms offers are only do-it-yourself documents, so of course the pricing is going to be cheaper than services that provide preparation services.

When US Legal Forms does offer preparation services, the pricing appears to be costlier than other online legal services, but it is again hard to tell. Sadly, US Legal Forms doesn't really give you any idea what is included in the price you are paying. They have one flat rate for the services they offer, but without knowing what is included with the price, it is hard to compare them to other legal services. It also makes it hard for the customer to make sure that they are getting everything they need from the service.

Also a downside, after talking to customer service, we found that the $199 price for incorporating a business or LLC only covers the cost of the forms and filling them out. There are extra fees for filing the forms, which most other services offer at no extra charge. It also doesn't include any extra forms such as stock certificates or tax IDs, which other services provide in their pricier plans.

Features

US Legal Forms has the largest offering when it comes to variety and swath of the forms they offer. They have everything. Do you need to file a complaint for misrepresentation of a Dairy Herd Feeding System? US Legal Forms actually has a form for that. Do you need a formal letter to remove a member from your church? They have that, too. Basically, if you have an obscure legal form that you need, it's best to check with US Legal Forms first.

Most of the more obscure legal forms don't come with the preparation services that some of the bigger legal features do. In fact, a good majority of the forms that we looked at were only available for download or by mail. To be fair, several of these were self-explanatory and easy to fill out and file. But for those who are less technical, it would be a nice option.

Interface

While having a wide range of forms to choose from is a great feature to have, if it's difficult to find the form you need, then what's the point? This is the issue that US Legal Forms runs into.

If your legal issue is not covered in the six key areas US Legal Forms has on its homepage, then you might have some issues finding an easy solution to your problem. There is a search function available, but each search returns sometimes hundreds of forms, so finding the form you need can be a difficult process. We searched something at least somewhat specific: Rental Agreement Residential in California. Even that returned 20+ forms to search through.

Here's the problem with this: Most other legal services will ask you a few questions to help you narrow down the types of forms you will need, but for most of the services US Legal Forms offer, you are on your own. Other services might ask you if you are looking for a Rental Agreement for a mobile home or a condo or a single-family home, but US Legal Forms just lists every possible Rental Agreement you might need. It makes the whole task of finding the correct form seem daunting and confusing.

The other issue with the interface is the actual preparation services part. When filling out the forms you will need to say, start an LLC, US Legal Forms doesn't give you any guidance on what specific information you need to provide. They ask for the name and address of your Registered Agent, but they don't tell you what a Registered Agent is. They just provide a large box for you to fill in all the information. There are blue question mark boxes next to some of the categories, but some, like the Registered Agent one, don't work. So for the most part, you are filling out these forms blind, hoping the information is correct.

Support

US Legal Forms has good customer service options. They have a toll free number (available Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. PT) you can call that connects you with a human being who can answer any of your questions about the forms on the site. They also have a chat function that also connects you with a human being you can chat with and get answers to your questions without having to call. Overall, the whole experience was pleasant and informative.

Conclusion

US Legal Forms is strong just based on the fact that they have such an impressive database of legal forms, but the interface is so confusing and hard to navigate that it makes it hard to actually find the form you are looking for, especially if you aren't entirely sure which form you need. We recommend US Legal Forms to those who know exactly what they are looking for, but for those who aren't sure or are looking for legal advice, we suggest you look at sites like LegalZoom and CorpNet.
