Bottom Line:
Limited services, even for a business-focused site; interface is clean, but sometimes confusing
Full Review:
MyCorporation's main limitation is its lack of features. Even for a business-focused site, it offers few options for customers. That said, it does offer the basics, including incorporation, LLCs, trademarking, DBAs and registered agent services. It also has a mostly easy-to-use interface, competitive pricing and helpful customer service options.

Pricing

MyCorporation's pricing is comparable to other business-focused sites, but lacks in all the features that are included. For example, their cheapest incorporation plan is $49, but doesn't include the full customer support, free registered agent services and money back guarantee that CorpNet includes at $49.

On the plus side, MyCorporation is very upfront about their pricing. Once you click on the option you want, you will be immediately shown the starting price (without any extra features) right above the "Order Now" button. Some of the features, such as incorporation, have different pricing options that include a tiered breakdown of what you get for the price you are paying. And those options also have a scrolling box of that breakdown that follows you as you answer questions and opt-in to more features.

Features

Make no mistake, MyCorporation is in the business of helping people start businesses. They offer 25 options, including LLC, incorporation, trademarking, DBAs, tax IDs, business licenses, annual reports and registered agent services. Basically, everything you need to start your business, at the minimum.

While most legal services focus on the legal side of starting a business, MyCorporation seems to focus on the business side. Along with the option of filing your articles of incorporation, they also have options to find an accountant (but no option to find an attorney, which is odd), and offer small business blog and community features that help answer your questions about starting a new business.

MyCorporation also offers a cool feature in MaintainMyBiz, a 12-month service that lets you file a wide range of included documents whenever you are ready. It is a good option for those who have never started a business before and will need legal help over the first year to file all the necessary paperwork. The only downside is that MaintainMyBiz is an extremely difficult feature to find on the site; an unfortunate side effect of their sometimes haphazard interface.

Interface

At first glance, MyCorporation's interface is simple, clean and easy to understand. The top navigation is clearly divided and intuitive, and the landing pages incorporate all the features that you'll need, from pricing to customer service, in logical places. The problem arises when you start clicking through the site and start discovering the little quirks that can disrupt your experience.

First, there is the issue of the disappearing drop downs. On the homepage and many of the landing pages, you have full access to the top navigation bar, including the drop down menus that include all of the features that MyCorporation offers. But once you click through to some of the features, the navigation shifts to the right and the helpful drop down menus disappear, which is an unfortunate interface glitch.

There are also a few smaller glitches that hurt the professional look of the site, but don't necessarily hinder the user experience. For example, when selecting a feature, such as trademark services, MyCorporation will take you into a flow with pages of questions to help you produce the documents needed for your business. The problem: The flow navigation at the top is pixelated, making it very difficult to read.

Finally, some of the best features that MyCorporation offers are practically hidden on the site. We stumbled across MaintainMyBiz, as well as the small business blog and community, by accident, and after going back to the main pages, realized that it's because they aren't promoted anywhere on the site. You have to search to find them, although the search is worth it.

Support

MyCorporation offers both phone and email customer support. The phone service is available on Monday-Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT. When we called, the CEO of MyCorporation greeted us with a recorded message and then sent us straight through to a live person who answered all of our questions. After sending an email with a standard question to MyCorporation's customer service, we received an informative and prompt response within 30 minutes.

MyCorporation also offers a small business forum where business owners can ask and answer each other's questions and talk about issues they may have with their business. There is also a Learning Center that houses articles on common questions and concerns someone might have when starting a business.

Conclusion

MyCorporation is a solid service for those who want to start their own business. While their selection of features is limited, they have a mostly easy-to-use interface, competitive pricing and a good selection of customer service options.
