JustFabulous is another fashion club started by a fashionista celebrity — this time Baby Phat founder Kimora Lee Simmons. We loved the wide selection of shoes and handbags, many of which turned out to be very trendy in person. Generally the site itself is fun to browse. Otherwise, the actual quality of the items was a hit or miss for many of the things we ordered. Getting Started JustFabulous' survey focuses heavily on celebrity style. Unlike ShoeDazzle, whose survey is based solely on photos, JustFabulous mixes it up with wordy questions as well. There are multiple-choice questions that ask what you would wear to work or out at night. They also ask you how you feel about one particular shoe. JustFabulous received 3 stars for "Shopping Experience" because our editors had mixed feelings on its combination of words and photos. Some didn't like that it asks users to pick between designers, because after all, many people do not follow designers. The survey was also a bit long. After completing the survey you are asked to register and are informed that your boutique will be ready in 48 hours. Much less than 48 hours later, you receive an email saying that your boutique is ready. Personal Boutique Your JustFabulous boutique consists of personalized shoe and bag selections, each for the monthly price of $39.95. There is also a jewelry section and a "fab favorites" section, made up of items that are popular on the site. Though some of our editors felt that the options they were presented with did not particularly fit their personal style, we liked that you could rate each item in the boutique with answers like "you're joking", "I'm considering" and "perfection!" Regardless, it did not feel like JustFabulous completely took the long survey into consideration. Even if you don't like the items in your boutique, there are plenty of collections to scan through on the site. "Night Lights" is full of sparkling shoes and clutches, "Block Party" features color-blocked shoes and bright colors, and when you buy the pink pump in the "Pretty in Pink" collection, 100% of the proceeds are donated to Triple Step, an organization that raises awareness for Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Ordering and Delivery After choosing an item you like and filling out all of the necessary shipping and billing information, JustFabulous rings up your order with free shipping and 20% off of your first purchase. After completing the order, JustFabulous will send you a confirmation email with order details and a receipt. However, one of our editors never received any JustFabulous emails. All of our items arrived within 7-10 business days and came in nice packaging. Product Quality In general, most of our purchases matched their online description. The quality, however, was a hit or miss. One of the handbags had a black mark on its light surface. Two of our editors ordered the same handbag; one of them had a chain that was very difficult to fasten, while the other one had no such defect. The "Justice" purse was sturdy and had no visible flaws, but it smelled heavily of fake leather. One pair of flats fit perfectly and the reviewer felt as though her money was well spent. Jumping right back to the site to get another pair of shoes, she was disappointed that her second purchase, a pair of boots this time, was uncomfortable and impractical. A couple of other flats had an okay comfort level, and one of the pairs was definitely stiffer than the other pair. Another one of our editors got a pair of heels that looked chic, but felt a bit flimsy. In general, specific shoes may be more comfortable than others. The comfort and quality factor depends on how that particular shoe was designed and executed. This even goes for shopping at higher end clothing stores. One of our editors even said that overall, the shoes she received from JustFabulous were more comfortable than our top-ranked fashion club, ShoeDazzle. Skip the Month If you do not make a selection nor select the "Skip This Month" option by the 5th of the month, you will be charged $39.95 on the 6th of the month. But as long as you as you select this option, you will not be charged! JustFabulous will also never send you anything that you did not manually select yourself. This becomes 1 JustFab credit that can be redeemed for 1 item in any future month. You can receive a maximum of 5 credits. Once you receive the maximum number of credits, you will not be charged until you redeem at least 1 credit. If you have multiple credits, you may redeem them together or separately. Each credit is valid for 1 year from the date of issuance. You can also build credit by returning an order for a credit. The 'maximum of 5' credits restriction listed above does not apply to credits earned through returns. Customer Support The customer service for JustFabulous received mixed reviews. First, returning items turned out to be a bit of a hassle. Unlike ShoeDazzle, there was no return label provided. You have to call customer service to receive one and though you get a full refund, there is a $5.95 restocking fee. Second, to cancel your account you must call customer service. The phone call did take a bit long and one of our editors felt like it was very unprofessional because she kept getting placed on hold and hearing a lot of background noise. On the other hand, some of our reviewers felt that the representatives were friendly. Conclusion JustFabulous has a wide selection of items and it doesn't hurt to sign up and check it out. If you have some time to sit through a survey that is on the longer side, you may find some shoes, purses, and accessories that you will enjoy — but if you order something that you are disappointed with, make sure to allot some time for the long customer service call to return it. The items themselves are trendy and depending on what you choose, may be a very good value. As mentioned earlier however, the quality can be a hit or miss. So beware, there may be some flaws that get you running to the phone and requesting that return label. |
