Great card for travelers who stay at Hilton Worldwide hotels, free hotel stays after spending $1,000 in first 4 months, includes bonus points for non-travel purchases
Full Review:
Citi® Hilton HHonorsSM Visa Signature® is a great card for road warriors who frequently stay (or want to stay) at hotels in the Hilton Worldwide portfolio. Our Travel Rewards Credit Card Analysis calculated the hotel redemption value to be $1.15 for every $100 spent. This is also the only travel card in our analysis that offers the perk of bonus points for non-travel purchases like supermarkets, drugstores and gas stations. In addition, users accrue bonus point for stays at participating hotels and earn 40,000 points for spending $1,000 in the first 4 months—enough for 3 nights at a Category 2 hotel or 1 night at a luxury Category 6 hotel.

Rewards
  • Earn 40,000 points after spending $1,000 within 4 months of account opening—enough for 3 nights at a Category 2 hotel or 1 night at a luxury Category 6 hotel.
  • Earn 6 points for each $1 spent at a participating hotel within the Hilton Worldwide portfolio.
  • Earn 3 points for each $1 spent on purchases at supermarkets, drugstores and gas stations.
  • Earn 2 points for each $1 spent on all other purchases.
  • Hilton HHonors Silver status for as long as you remain a cardmember.

Redeem Rewards
  • Redeem points for free nights at more than 3,600 hotels within the Hilton Worldwide portfolio, Experience Rewards, car rentals or exchange Hilton points for airline miles with Hilton HHonors participating airline partners.
  • Points required for a free reward night range between 7,500 points for a Category 1 hotel and 80,000 points for the Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts.
  • Hotel Redemption: Members can book free hotel stays at a number of hotels in the Hilton brand, including Waldorf Astoria, Hilton, Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites. The number of points required to book a room depends on the category the hotel falls into. The categories range from "1" to "7", with 1 being the lower end of the price spectrum and 7 representing the high end hotels.
  • Flight Redemption: Uers have to exchange their Hilton points for airline miles in order to book flights. Hilton has a number of partner airlines, including Air China, Alaska Airlines, Delta, Hawaiian Airlines, JetBlue, Southwest, United and Virgin. However at an average of more than 8 Hilton points required for every airline mile, the published exchange rates are steep and the up to 8 week delay until the exchange goes through means no instant gratification.

Fees and APR
  • No annual fee.
  • Purchase APR: 14.24% variable.
  • Balance Transfers: Only available after being a member for 6 months, then purchase APR. Balance transfer fee is $5 or 3% of the amount of each transfer, whichever is greater
