Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card Review

Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card
Rating:
Bottom Line:
Earn rewards for everyday purchases and travel, 80,000 bonus point opportunity equal to $1000 in travel, no foreign transaction fees

Full Review:
Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card is a good choice for businesses interested in a flexible rewards card with a generous intro bonus.

With a whopping 80,000 point intro bonus after spending $5,000 in the first 3 months - worth $1,000 in travel or $800 in cash! - Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card really starts off strong. Other cards that have intro bonuses near this one charge annual fees in the $450-$500 range, so this may be the best intro bonus out there for those that will spend enough to earn it. Cardholders will also rack up ongoing rewards by earning 3 points per $1 on the first $150K spent in combined purchases in the following categories: travel, shipping purchases, internet, cable and phone services and ad purchases made with social media sites and phone service. All other purchases will earn an unlimited 1 point per $1 spent. Extra employee cards are free, which makes it easy to earn more points and to consolidate those point earnings. And there are no foreign transaction fees, which helps save on costs when making purchases outside the country.

The Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card's redemption possibilities are very flexible. If you choose to redeem your earned points for cash, gift cards or through Amazon.com, they are worth one cent ($0.01 per point), i.e. 100 points equals $1 in redemption value. However, if you decide to use your points for travel, each point is worth one and a quarter cents, or $.0125, which means that 100 points is worth $1.25. An easier way to think about the travel value is that your points will be worth 25% more if you redeem them for travel through the Chase Ultimate Rewards online portal. You can also choose to move your points over to either your own or your spouse/domestic partner's Chase Freedom, Chase Sapphire Preferred or Ink Cash Business Card for free and combine them for all the travel options available via Chase Ultimate Rewards.

Other card perks include up to $600 in mobile phone protection against covered theft or damage for you and your employees when you purchase the phone with your Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card ($100 deductible and a 3 claim per year max). There's also extended warranty protection, purchase protection and trip cancellation insurance. And if you live by your smart phone, the Ink Mobile App will help you manage your purchases with instant purchase alerts, and provide the ability to file receipts and manage employee spending. The card does have an annual fee of $95, but its likely your business purchases will more than offset the cost.

Overall, if you're in the market for a flexible rewards card with a big intro bonus and mobile phone protection, Ink Business Preferred℠ Credit Card might be the right choice for you and your business.
