Do I Need a Computer to Use VoIP?

Posted by

Q: I'm looking for a phone solution for my parents, who don't have a computer. Does VOIPo require a computer to work, or can it be used with just the adapter and a high-speed internet connection?

A: Great question! No, you do not technically need a computer to use VoIP. Access to a computer may be helpful for setting up and administering the service (setting things like voicemail preferences, blocked numbers, etc.), but for day-to-day operation, you just need a high-speed internet connection and the VoIP adapter VOIPo provides.

Once you've set up your VoIP service (which is generally very simple), you shouldn't notice much difference between using VoIP and using a traditional phone service, which makes it very easy to get used to, even for people who aren't comfortable with computers or technology.
