Mobile Faxing: Internet Fax
Applications for Your Smartphone

Posted by

MetroFax iPhone App

If you find that your most frequent means of communication require you to look into your palm, then a nice mobile app should be part of your criteria when looking for the right Internet fax service. Internet faxing is centered around mobility, so in addition to being able to send faxes from your email or the service's web interface, sending faxes from your cell gives you ultimate convenience.

Not only does MetroFax land first place in our Internet fax rankings, but we love their sleek mobile app for iPhone and Android as well. You can attach any file to your faxes and send them straight from the application. View your inbox, sent messages and contacts with a tap of your finger. We also like their detailed fax confirmations which include delivery status, file size, number of pages and a fax ID so you can keep detailed records. Read our full MetroFax review.

Though MyFax isn't at the top of our list, they do have a nice mobile application available for iPhone, Android and BlackBerry. Send and view faxes right after logging in with your fax number and password. A cool feature lets you take photos of documents and then the app will enhance the images for you before you send them out. Read the full MyFax review here.

Remember, if you have your sights on a different Internet fax service from our reviews and comparisons but it doesn't offer a mobile application, do not fear. You can use your smartphone's email browser to send and receives faxes from each service.

Are there any fax services that provide free phone number and only charge by the fax, rather than a flat rate per month?

  2. Polina Polishchuk Says:

Hi Richard, that's a great question. Unfortunately, none of the services we've reviewed have a pay as you go option. If you're looking to send and receive only a couple of faxes per month though, Fax87 has a "Basic" plan that's only $6.99/month and you get 10 pages to send and 10 pages to receive each month.

I am glad to see that ClickFax by Data Fabrication did not even make your review because as a former customer, I would definitely NOT recommend them, and would like to forewarn anyone considering their service.
