Ancestry.com Deal: Free Access for Long Fourth of July Weekend
Posted by Jeff Hindenach
Want to see if your ancestors came over on the Mayflower? Well, during this long Fourth of July weekend Ancestry.com is letting you do just that. They are opening up a sampling of their millions and millions of public records to help you track your family history back to the original 13 colonies. Included in the sampling are records from U.S. Sons of the American Revolution Membership Applications, 1889-1970; Daughters of the American Revolution Lineage Books; and Historical Newspapers, Birth, Marriage, & Death Announcements, 1851-2003. Ancestry also collected some of their own data about each of the 13 colonies and created a cool interactive map that offers up some little known facts about the colonies.
These records are free to everyone from now until Sunday, July 8 at midnight. To take advantage or to read our review of Ancestry.com, click here.
