Where Can I Buy Stamps Online?

Posted by

Q: I'm always running out of stamps and don't have time to drive to the post office. Where can I buy them online?

A: Thanks for your question. If you send a lot of mail, constantly driving to the post office can get really tedious. Thankfully, we review three websites where you can buy and print exact postage hassle-free. Stamps.com, Endicia and PBSmartPostage are great online stamps services that will make your life a bit easier, not to mention the free USPS supplies you can get with each provider.

So which one should you choose? Though we enjoyed using all of these services, there are a couple of differences that may sway you in one direction or  the other. Stamps.com is our favorite service thanks to its simple single-form interface for calculating and printing postage. The monthly plan costs $15.99 and includes a free 5 lb scale to weigh your mail on. Note that for all of the services, the cost of postage is not included in the monthly subscription but you do get a variety of shipping discounts and coupons by being a member. Endicia is great too, and if you are a PC user we highly recommend this site thanks to its low $9.95/mo membership fee. Mac users pay more at $15.95/mo. Unlike Stamps.com, users download Endicia's postage software onto their computers instead of using the online interface. Though it is an extra download, we found the software easy to use and it had us printing postage in a snap. While we do not recommend PBSmartPostage for Mac users, PC users will be happy to hear that they have a 60-day free trial, unlike the two other services' 30-day trials.

To recap: Stamps.com is a great service across the board, Endicia is really cheap for PC users, and PBSmartPostage has a 60-day free trial so you can get a feel for the service. Make sure to read all of our online stamps reviews and compare them side by side here.
