Minted vs. Tiny Prints: Which Photo Card
Provider Should I Choose?
Posted by Mary Humphreys
With so many sites currently offering customized photo cards and paper products online, it can be hard to know which company to go with. We've taken the time to test each service, so we can set out which provider you should choose for each project, depending on your needs and priorities. Here, we compare our overall winner, Tiny Prints, with our favorite source for high-end prints, Minted.
What They Have In Common:
Tiny Prints and Minted both offer high-end customized photo cards and stationery. Both sites offer full wedding invitations (Tiny Prints does this through Wedding Paper Divas, while Minted offers wedding invitations on the main site). Both sites give you a choice of several high-quality papers and offer some cards with special printing techniques like letterpress or thermography.
What Sets Tiny Prints Apart:
As you'll have noticed if you checked out our comparison chart, Tiny Prints tends to be a little less expensive than Minted overall, though the pricing does even out if you place a large order. Tiny Prints also has a truly enormous selection of designs. If you're looking for something obscure, or just want a ton of choices, Tiny Prints might be the way to go. Tiny Prints has great search tools and a really useful one-click favorites list so you can keep track of the designs you're considering.
You might choose Tiny Prints if:
- You need a really big selection
- Price is among your top considerations
- You don't need to make lots of detailed adjustments
- You want to quickly compare lots of designs

What Sets Minted Apart:
Simply put, Minted has gorgeous design, awesome customer service, and great craftsmanship. Minted gets its designs from independent designers who compete to be listed on the site in regular design contests. As a result, the site houses a truly lovely collection of curated designs. What's more, the Minted design tool is very, very detailed, so you can move elements around, tweak font, and even adjust colors. Minted also does a great job of working with customers to offer customizations of their designs. If you want a change you can't make with the online tool, a Minted designer will work with you to make your design happen, whether by adding custom colors, changing the card orientation, or just helping you get the type aligned correctly. If you're ordering stationery for a special occasion and want it to turn out just so, Minted might be the provider for you.
Minted also has an unusually wide range of "extras," including special backings, envelope linings, and special envelopes. Though you'll pay a little extra for each add-on, you can create really luxe cards.
You might choose Minted if:
- You're willing to pay a little extra for truly top-notch quality and extras
- You want a very flexible design tool
- You want designer assistance
- You want to support independent designers
- You fall in love with one of their designs
