MetroFax vs eFax:
Which Internet Fax Service is Better?
Posted by Polina Polishchuk
MetroFax and eFax are two of the biggest names in Internet faxing. While both of these popular companies share the same function, MetroFax is a much better value.
When choosing an Internet fax provider, it's important to know which one gives you the most bang for your buck. If you pay for the up front annual plan, eFax comes out to $14.13/month, while the MetroFax annual is half the price at just $6.63/month. If you want to pay monthly, MetroFax's price is only slightly higher at $7.95/month, and eFax is $16.95 per month. Not only is eFax the most expensive Internet fax service we review, but for the high price, they do not give you much of a fax allowance. eFax allows users to send 150 faxes per month, and receive the same amount, while MetroFax allows 500 combined send and receive faxes per month. Unlike MetroFax, however, eFax gives you the option to choose a toll-free number at no additional cost. MetroFax charges an additional $2/month if you decide to get a toll-free number, but even with this addition, MetroFax is still cheaper. MetroFax and eFax have a similar interface; both have a main dashboard and a window that pops up when you want to send a fax. Though both services are simple and easy to use, MetroFax is a clear winner thanks to its price and value.
