Kick Off Your Spring Workout Schedule
With A Great Audiobook
Posted by Mary Humphreys
Seasoned audiobook readers know that listening to a great book can make the morning commute go faster, but that's not the only time audiobooks can keep you entertained. As the weather warms up and runners take their workouts outside and away from captivating gym TVs, some of them will bring audiobooks with them.
Those who don't favor fast-paced "pump up" music for accompanying their run can find audiobooks make the miles tick by faster, and with hours of story to listen to, just one book can get you through weeks of even the most vigorous training schedule. Runners aren't the only ones who can take audiobooks with them — even walking the dog can be a great chance to get in a chapter or two, helping you stay fit and get through that list of things you've been meaning to read.
Need a little inspiration? Check out Haruki Murakami's What I Talk About When I Talk About Running: A Memoir, Jim Fleming's To the Best of Our Knowledge: On Running, or The Long Run: One Man's Attempt to Regain his Athletic Career – and His Life – by Running the New York City Marathon by Matthew Long and Charles Butler. All of these titles are available right now on our favorite audiobook service, Audible.com, where you can get your first three months (and therefore your first three books) for just $7.49/mo.
