Does Identity Guard monitor my bank accounts too?

December 13th, 2011 - Posted by Tasha

Q: Does Identity Guard monitor my bank accounts too?

A:  Yes, Identity Guard TOTAL PROTECTION® monitors the Internet black market for any bank account numbers you register.  It also scans for the fraudulent use of your credit cards, Social Security number, address and other personal information.  Although Identity Guard automatically starts monitoring the SSN, address and credit card you sign up with, you'll need to manually enter your bank accounts and any other credit cards into your account.  Make sure you do so, because if you don't register this additional information you won't be taking full advantage of the comprehensive Identity Guard service.

In addition to proactively monitoring for your personal information, Identity Guard also provides 3-bureau credit monitoring, free 3-bureau credit scores at sign up and a free Internet Security suite with your membership.  Right now Identity Guard, our top-rated identity theft protection service, is offering NextAdvisor readers a special deal – a free 30-day trial and 25% discount.  That means you'll get 3-bureau credit scores and a public records report for free when you sign up for the trial, and they are yours to keep even if you cancel.  You'll also get a whopping $5.00 off, bringing the monthly price down from $19.99 to $14.99.  All-in-all a pretty darn good deal.

Will my Citi Dividend World Mastercard cash back rewards rollover to the following year?

December 12th, 2011 - Posted by Tasha

Q:  Will my Citi Dividend World Mastercard $200 cash back card rewards rollover to the following year?

A: Yes, your Citi® Dividend World Mastercard® – $200 Cash Back "Dividend Dollars" will rollover to the following year. Per the Terms & Conditions associated with this card, "Dividend Dollars will not expire as long as you have qualifying purchase activity at least once every 12 months unless the Citi Dividend Card Reward Program is terminated in which case you will have only 30 days to request redemption of your eligible Dividend Dollars."

Basically, that means your cash back Dividend Dollars will rollover because they don't expire. The catch is that you need to purchase something with your card at least once every 12 months, which for most users shouldn't be an issue. The other caveat is that if you cancel your card you have 30 days to redeem your outstanding Dividend Dollars. Overall we like the Citi® Dividend World Mastercard® – $200 Cash Back card because, well, it gives you $200 cash back after spending $500 in the first 3 months. Users will also earn 5% cash back in rotating categories and 1% cash back on everything else, up to a $300 per year maximum cap.

However, if you're more interested in a credit card with unlimited cash back earning potential, take a look at the Chase Freedom® Visa – $200 Bonus Cash Back card. Users will also earn $200 cash back after making $500 worth of purchases in the first 3 months, 5% cash back in rotating categories and 1% unlimited cash back on all other purchases. The difference is that there is no cash back earnings "cap", so you can earn unlimited rewards (and the rewards don't expire).  Or you can check out all of our Cash Back Cards and see which card works best for your situation.

With the Fresh Prepared Meals Diet Plan, is there an Option to "Opt Out" of Certain Foods?

December 9th, 2011 - Posted by polina

Q: My husband cannot eat poultry, is the Fresh Prepared Meals plan a good choice? Is there an option to "opt out" on certain foods?

A: Fresh Prepared Meals is a comprehensive meal delivery program that is best for people who prefer a more structured plan. Both the 5-day and 7-day plans feature a standardized meal plan, so if you have very specific dietary needs, the Fresh Prepared Meal program may not be for you. However, there are ways in which you can customize it a little bit more. For example, you can sign into your account each week and select which foods out of their selection you want to receive, giving you the ability to customize your meals a little bit more. Thus, if your husband does not eat poultry, there are ways in which he could choose other foods at the beginning of each week. Read more about Fresh Prepared Meals!

Another great, and low-priced, meal delivery service option would be Nutrisystem, which has special meal plans for men in particular. With Nutrisystem, the meals are more customizable and may be a better option for you. Read more about Nutrisystem here.

Is Customer Service Part of Norton Internet Security 2012's Features?

December 8th, 2011 - Posted by jeff

Q: On Norton's customer support, if I am having problems is there a charge or is this part of the service?

A: Norton Internet Security 2012 offers customer service as part of their security suite package. And not only do they offer the service, they customize it to your particular software, so that you don't spend precious time searching their site for an answer.

After you select the software that you need help with, they first offer you personalized assistance via an online chat with their online customer service rep, Nathan. If Nathan can’t help you, there are other features that include common FAQs, a copy of the product manual, customer service forums and other specific categories to help you narrow down your search. In addition, they also have paid professional service that will fix the problem for you, so you don’t have to do any of the work. They also include an email and phone number so that you can contact customer service directly.

If you want to know more about Norton Internet Security, or compare it to other security software, check out our Internet Security Software reviews.
