Does the Blue Cash Everyday from American Express Card have a 0% APR for Balance Transfers?
November 14th, 2011 - Posted by Tasha
Q: Does the Blue Cash EverydaySM from American Express card have 0% APR for balance transfers?
A: Blue Cash EverydaySM from American Express does not have a special introductory APR for balance transfers, so the standard purchase APR (currently 17.24%-22.24%) will apply to all balance transfers. However, it does have a 12 month, 0% introductory APR for purchases and users earn 3% cash back at supermarkets (excluding superstores and warehouse clubs), 2% at gas stations and department stores and 1% on all other eligible purchases.
If you're looking for a 0% APR balance transfer card that also earns cash back rewards, you should consider the Chase Freedom® Visa – $100 Bonus Cash Back + 0% Intro APR card. It features a 0% APR on balance transfers for the first 12 months, as well as a 0% APR on all purchases for the first 6 months. In addition, you'll earn $100 cash back if you spend $500 within the first 3 months of receiving the card. AND you'll also earn cash back rewards every time you use your Chase Freedom Visa card to pay for something - 1% unlimited cash back on all purchases, and 5% cash back (up to $1,500) within certain bonus categories, which rotate on a quarterly basis. It's a great all-around card, and is currently our top ranked Rewards Credit Card and makes the top 3 for our Cash Back Credit Cards.
Which Simple Web Hosting Service Should I Use?
November 12th, 2011 - Posted by polina
Q: I am a writer of fiction looking to start a website where I can publish stories and set up PayPal. Which web hosting service should I use?
A: Among all of the web hosts we review, there are a number of services we recommend for beginners and those looking for a more simple option. We recommend Yahoo! Small Business web hosting for those who are less tech-saavy. It has an intuitive PayPal shopping cart builder, easy-to-use control panel, and great customer support. Get it for 35% off the monthly price and have a free domain for life. If you want true site design (what you see is what you get), Lunarpages is another affordable and simple service that includes the easily installable osCommerce, CubeCart and Zen Cart Shopping Carts as an alternative to paypal. 1&1 web hosting is another great option that includes intuitive 12-page site building – use the different pages for each of your works! It also offers a very full-featured website creator and integrated blogging platform.

I Need A Secured Credit Card For Travel. Is There One That Is Approved Instantly?
November 10th, 2011 - Posted by Tasha
A: I need a secured credit card for travel. Is there one that is approved instantly?
Q: Not exactly. The Orchard Bank Visa Card features a unique pre-qualification process that matches applicants up with the card they are most likely to be approved for, whether it's a secured or non-secured card. Then you can review the card details and submit your application to be processed and approved. Although this isn't instant approval, it does significantly improve the odds for receiving a card. According to their website, once your application is approved you'll receive your card in the mail within 10-14 business days.
We like the Orchard Bank Visa Card (and it's sister card the Orchard Bank Mastercard) because it helps rebuild your credit history by reporting your card payments to the 3 credit bureaus each month. If you're making your payments on time, this good payment behavior can help improve your credit score. Or take a look at our other Poor Credit Card Reviews and choose the best card for you.
How do I Send a Fax Through my Email?
November 10th, 2011 - Posted by polina
Q: How can I use my email to send a fax?
A: First, you must sign up for an Internet faxing service. While most of these services come with their own convenient web interface, many users may find the fax through email features even more useful. This enables you to simply email documents to other people's fax machines. A service that implements this quite well is Fax87. Their "Email-to-Fax" feature is extremely easy to use: using your sign-up email, send a message with an empty body and the file you would like to fax as an attachment. In the recipient line, type the destination fax 'number@emailyourfax.com'. Write your Fax87 fax number in the subject line and click send. You will then receive a confirmation email telling you that your fax was delivered.
MyFax, MetroFax, and most of our other Internet fax services offer this feature as well. Need help figuring out which Internet fax service is perfect for you? Compare them all here!

Does the United MileagePlus Explorer Card Have Any Blackout Dates for Travel?
November 8th, 2011 - Posted by Tasha
A: Does the United MileagePlus® Explorer card have any blackout dates for travel?
Q: The United MileagePlus® Explorer card does NOT have any blackout dates for travel. According to the United MileagePlus® Explorer card terms and conditions, card users can "redeem MileagePlus miles for any seat, any time: No limitations, restrictions or blackout dates on Standard MileagePlus awards." They go on to say that "If seats are available for sale, they can be redeemed at the Standard Award level."
This is good news, and means you can use the MileagePlus miles you accrue with your card to travel whenever you'd like, as long as seats are available. It's always a good idea to book as far in advance as you can – as with any air travel seats are usually in limited supply, especially to popular travel destinations.
We think United MileaglePlus Explorer is a great travel rewards card if you like to travel United or Continental. In fact, in our independent Travel Rewards Program Analysis the United MileagePlus program rated very highly with a point value of $0.011 per point. Card members earn a generous 25,000 bonus miles after their first purchase, 2 miles for every $1 spent when purchasing tickets from United or Continental and 1 mile for every $1 spent on other purchases.

Do Internet Fax Services Provide Encryption?
November 7th, 2011 - Posted by polina
Q: I will be using Internet Fax for personal health information, do any of these services provide encryption?
A: That's a great question – you always want to make sure that your personal health information is secure. The great news is that most Internet Fax Services offer encryption. MetroFax is one such service. Not only are your faxes sent to and from your password-protected account, but they also offer SSL encryption protection. And while we are on the subject of personal health information, note that MetroFax is also HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) compliant. MyFax is another great service that uses a secure server with SSL encryption. No human interaction happens while your faxes are being sent, and the fact that papers are never left forgotten on your fax machine should give you an extra peace of mind. Check out all of our Internet Fax Services and the great security features they provide.
How can I get identity theft protection for my daughter?
November 4th, 2011 - Posted by Tasha
Q: How can I get identity theft protection for my daughter?
A: Good question! A couple of our top-rated identity theft protection services offer protection for your children too. Most people don't realize it, but children are easy prey for identity thieves because their lack of credit history means they usually don't have any credit records. Therefore, the occurrence of credit-related identity theft can go undetected for quite some time. And even if a child does have a credit report it typically isn't checked until after they turn 18, which means fraudulent activity could have happened without anyone being aware of it. That's why it's a good idea to subscribe to an identity theft protect service that will help protect your child.
Both of these services we discuss below are highly recommended by NextAdvisor, and are great choices to help protect your children from identity theft. They both also offer free trials to NextAdvisor readers, so you can give them a test drive without reaching into your pocketbook.
TrustedID's IDFreeze will protect your entire family, including your spouse and children, for just $13.46 per month (with annual prepay). The only requirement is that everyone has to be living at the same address. IDFreeze will monitor the Internet black market for your child's Social Security number, bank accounts, name and address. It also monitors the Internet and public records for any changes to or misuse of your child's name, address, or Social Security number. In addition your child will be given an Identity Threat Score which provides a gauge of his/her individual risk level. Right now Trusted ID is offering NextAdvisor readers a free 14-day trial, so you can test drive it free of charge and see if it's a good fit.
Identity Guard TOTAL PROTECTION® features an add-on service called kID Sure. kID Sure monitors the Internet black market for your child's Social Security number (SSN) and registered bank account numbers, scans public records for you child's SSN and name, and provides ongoing monitoring of applications submitted using a child's data. It also features ID Risk Assessment® of your child's current risk level for identity theft. Although kID Sure requires that you sign up for Identity Guard TOTAL PROTECTION first ($14.99/mo with NextAdvisor discount), it's just an extra $4.99 per month per child. Identity Guard is extending NextAdvisor reader a 30-day free trial of their TOTAL PROTECTION service, so you can see if the service is to your liking before adding kID Sure to it (Note: there is no free trial for kID Sure).
