Q. Is there a list of audiobooks available? What type of equipment do you recommend where you can have portability and not have to use headphones?
A. For the first part of your question, you can browse most audiobook sites by genre, bestsellers, and so forth. Check out Audible, which offers the largest downloadable library of the audiobook providers we review.
Regarding equipment, you might enjoy a set of portable speakers with your MP3 player or laptop if you don't like headphones. Or you can burn the books onto a CD and play it in your car. A caveat: Headphones are recommended for not irritating the people around you.
