I just bought a new computer. How do I access my Carbonite account that was with my prior computer to use on this one?

May 2nd, 2011 - Posted by Kent

The following is an actual user-submitted question:

Q: I just bought a new computer. How do I access my Carbonite account that was with my prior computer to use on this one?

A: First, you need to log in to your account via the Carbonite website. If you can't remember your password, Carbonite will help you recover it. Once logged in you'll find an area in the account section that allows you to transfer or restore your Carbonite account to a new computer. You probably want to choose the restore option as it will put your old files on your new computer. You will then be guided through the process. For more information, check out out the help pages on Carbonite's website for restoring files onĀ PCs and Macs.

HAD SAME PROBLEM, CARBONITE RESTORED OLD FILES AND TELL ME THAT THEY HAVE BACKED UP NEW FILES, BUT UNABLE TO SEE THEM VIA REMOTE ACCESS.

  2. Doyle Hulme Says:

Unable to enter Carbonite as it will not recognize the pass word and tried using forgot password to get service to no avail.

  3. Kent Says:

You will need to contact Carbonite's customer service then, as we have no access to customer account data.
