Reclaim Privacy gets your Facebook privacy (sort of) back
May 20th, 2010 - Posted by Kent
Concerned about your Facebook privacy? ReclaimPrivacy.org has developed a bookmark applet that will scan your Facebook profile and let you know how vulnerable your privacy is on Facebook—at least as far as your personal settings go. Just drag the bookmark into your bookmark bar (we tried it on Firefox), log into your Facebook page and click the bookmark.
Again, this just tells you how you can fine tune the privacy settings you have control over, but it won't prevent Facebook from allowing your friends to "share" certain pieces of information about you, your so-called "connections" or interests as well as your " Name, Profile Picture, Gender, as well as any information that is visible to Everyone." It's all rather murky and obtuse, though ReclaimPrivacy bookmarklet is a good way to control things a bit.
You can at least make sure that your overshares don't get posted on Openbook.
