How to remove a fake profile from Facebook

Q: How can I remove a fake profile of myself from Facebook?
A: What can you do if you find out someone has created a fake Facebook profile in your name? This is actually a pretty easy situation to resolve. If you already have a Facebook account, go to the account page you'd like to report and click "Report Page" and enter the requested information. You'll find this link at the bottom left of any Facebook profile. If you don't have a Facebook account you can visit the Facebook "Imposter Profile" page and report the issue there.
You should be aware that someone setting up a fake profile in your name may be an indication of even more serious identity theft. I am quite confident I understand a thing about this on Matt Cutt's blog like four nights ago saying quite a lot the exact identical point. I don't always take what he says at encounter benefit simply because he has been regarded previously to "smear the truth" so to speak when it's in Google's ideal interest.

the link mentioned above Facebook "Imposter Profile" page do exist but after entering all the details its not working it get stucks at sending request to upload.facebook.com. and then nothing happens …. pls help as somebody has created my fake id and i want to delete it asap as its getting very bad name to me.

I had a fake profile of myself put on last wednesday and it has the most vile stuff you could imagine, and facebook have done nothing about it. ive reported it to the police and will be contacting trading standards. HOW do you contact facebook as everytime you send emails anywhere they bounce back i think its an absolute joke there is no way to contact them. my fake profile was done just by playing Zynga poker someone copied my picture and got my name HOW???? this fake profile has been reported 5 times but no joy. facebook state they deal will this type of thing very seriously but obviously NOT..

I have reported my neice's fake profile that some little so and so you know what created in her name just to bust her (my nieces) you know what.
Facebook does absolutely nothing about it.
The fake profile is still there and it's been over 5 months of my trying to get it removed for my niece.
Facebook doesn't really have a contact us way of contacting them, for obvious reasons!
So I can't even send them a email telling them to please take the fake profile down. They (facebook) just don't care about peoples little problems!

I also have been the victim of fraud and identity theft. Someone has created a fake profile in Facebook with the specific intention of harrassing me, my family and my friends. Additionally, she has indicated that if I pay her, she will remove the page. This is attempted extoration. How can Facebook be allowed to allow this to happen. If any harm comes to me or any of my friends or family due to the fake profile Facebook has allowed to be opened, then Facebook is complicit in that criminal act as well. I am angry and extremely frustrated with this situation. Can someone please help?

The email that was given above to report a fake FB page is no longer in service. FB wants each page reported using the link on the left of the page. However, IT DOESN"T WORK. It will continually ask you the name of the person. It will not save or take the name.

Someone has made a fake profile of me, I have contacted all the "friends" of theirs and most have reported and blocked the account, but guess what, it's still up! It's been several weeks now and probably 20 reports on it, even pornographic report and it's STILL up! What is their problem. Those accounts should automatically suspended!

I also experienced the same problems like them .. someone was imitating my account .. I've tried to report this fake profile, but I see it still there .. how else should I do? fake profile reflects the bad things about me and say I'm a bitch and whore .. I feel very depressed with the fake profile, and I fear that my friends think bad of me .. so I expect the cooperation of the facebook team to removed the fake profile as soon as possible ..

I have same experience like them and i feel disappointed to be neglected by the facebook team. We are victims here and still begging for your expertise to help us to delete these fake account of ours. Like them, it's really annoying that someone is making bad words and gossip about us. Hello, everybody. Have a question for those who have ever got any loans at banks. I need a short loan, for a couple of days, I hope. It happens quite often, when I don`t have enough money before payday. Still I wanted to ask where it is better to go to get one and where they dont overcharge? Here, they write a lot, but can we trust them? Can you advice a bank where the interest rates are not too high or say if you had business with these gues and how was it? Thanks a lot in advance. This is a group, not the person and there is no possibility to report about fake profile, there is no such kind of button on the group page.
I can't use option This profile (timeline) is pretending to be someone or is fake / Pretending to be me cause it doesn't exist.
I supposed facebook abuse team decided problems with broken copyright and intellectual property.
But they don't want to do anything!! I send them a lot of reports and mails, but they ignored me and that fake profile is still available!! Someone stool my name and works, create group, chat with a people on my behalf and they nothing, cause it's not the violation? But what about my rights and who protect me from interference in my private life and stolen my identity?
Please, could you help me to delete this fake profile from facebook? Please, help me, I don't know what to do!!

facebook dosnt check all the details carefully … it happened like that i was on facebook since 3 years. due to exams i deactivated my acount. when i returned to facebook, i created a new 1 with my new email address…. in the meantime when i was not on facebook, my fake id was created. and the older 1 was removed fron fb due to a long period of deactivation. …. i reported the incident to facebook…. i dnt knw wat they chekd, but they disabled my new orignal acnt instead of the fake 1 http://facebook.com/peirce.brosnan
