I have attended University of Phoenix online for over a year now. I have had a great time since I started. I have had professors that are not only smart but they have actual experience. It does cost more than some schools. However, I do not have to drive anywhere or find a babysitter. My counselors have been very easy going and they always call be back the same day. My husband has even started attending UOP. This is not an easy school it any way. The classes are harder than traditional schools. However, you can graduate faster. I would reccomend this school to anyone as long as they are self disciplined and not lazy. When it comes to financial aid I have had no problems. When I recieved my papers for my student loans in te mail from the bank saying they were being dispersed on a certain dat I recieved the excess in 3 days. If you choose to use direct deposit it is a lot faster than by mail. I hope this helps.

University of Phoenix Financial aid is impossible with Financial Aid reps who do not communicate with each other its ridiculous I have had the Apollo Group(They Handel all UOP's Financial Affairs),well the Apollo group will tell me that I don't need a statement from my tax preparer and then my campus advisor would tell me to submit the same statement that Apollo said they didn't need and it's just been a stupid run around all over 50$ in line ad of my mother's taxes yeah 50$ I could understand if it was 500,or 50,000 and so I was asked to submit a statement of my mothers stock,bond,farm net,net-worth. Now if my mom says 0. how and the hell is the tax man gonna know if my mom has any stocks! If she does I feel sorry for her if all she's got is 50$ UOP will not give me financial aid ! Because of my rich mother and her so-called 50$ stock I said screw UOP. I'm going to another school. Oh and my mother told UOP where the 50$ on her taxes came from her having to pay a extra tax from some taxes that her job didnt take out during the year and they still acted like they didnt belive it. Yeah how petie 50 bucks I guess my moms a rich Bi*&^ with 50$.... I HATE UOP TO like so many others.And guess what? My mom goes to UOP to and has been for 5 months (awating her financial aid tranfer to a new college) She has financial Aid at UOP! but do you think that Apollo/UOP noticed the 50$ with her TAXES last year.I THINK NOT! she also had problems with financial aid but not with the heavenly 50$ they didnt notice it until I sent in mine and hers taxes in, what a load of bull. OH THE IT PROGRAMS Arent Accredited by ABET and the busniess programs arent Accredited by AACBS so if you plan on working at a real company your making a big mistake.... I also attend the UOP ( they are a joke when it comes to fiancial aid LOL) they pussy foot around too much!!! my disbursement date was on the 11/27/09, do you think i have recieved my excess funds..i dont think so. with any other real college you attend u will recieve all of your excess funds in a timely fasion, like within 3 days after you start, these people take like 5 6 months to send you money that belongs to you!!!!!
in conclusion….
I hate UOP!!

I attended and graduated(luckly) with University of Phoenix and I hated that school. It was great during oreintation..but they do not fully explain anything to you.They just want new students for money. The tuition goes up every year,every year.They advisors, financial aid etc will not call you back after you are apart of UoP. They have no time for you they are looking for new students and those are the ones they have time for. They always taking days off and never in the office. You can leave a message and email and tehy will not call you back. They instructors will not offer you any advice to help yourself get further or if you are failing the class.When you attend the Masters program they do not expalin anything that graduate students need to know. They do not have catalogs for code of ethics for you to hands on to read nor do they tell you about it, if anything is not going right the first thing they say is you should have read the student hand book. What hand book? You did not give me a hand book.I transfered to another college for my Maters.Financial aid is running a bad scam or something… You have to keep a eye on all your Financial Aid(Pell) and Loans(as well as G.I.Bill) because they will jip you because you dont know. You must keep a eye on what the school is charging you and how much your loans and Pell is paying and disbursing to you. They tried to do me and several of my class mates like that but I handled them. I advised them that I would report them to the commission of student affairs and this was over $2000.That is your money that you have to pay back not them. If they take your money you will have to pay this back to your loan company 6 months after you graduate.Be careful.
