Credit monitoring services are ripoffs. All they do is send you an alert when something changes (if it does) which doesn't stop or prevent ID theft, just tells you in horrific real time as it's happening. Get a credit freeze and you actually BLOCK access to your credit reports. Just do a search on "credit security freezes" and there's tons of sites that explain it (or just go to my site by clicking my name and click on ID theft on the left). Don't bother. Credit monitoring services are ripoffs.
