Would it be $14.99 per month each for a husband and wife to sign up for Identity Guard?

Posted by Joe on January 22nd, 2009

The following post in our Reader Question series is an actual user submitted question. To maintain the integrity of the original question, we do not edit or change reader questions in any way.

Q: Would it be $14.99 per month each for a husband and wife to sign up for Identity Guard?

A: Yes. A husband and wife would each need to sign up for separate Identity Guard accounts which each would cost $14.99 per month after a thirty day free trial. The reason that separate accounts are required is that the husband and wife will each have totally separate credit files with each of the three credit bureaus.

Does any service provide scores and UNLIMITED FULL credit reports? By "FULL" Credit report I mean exactly like the report you get free once, or if you pay for it. NOT the combined and condensed reports found on something like turcredit. Thank you.

  2. Ray Morley Says:

I see that spouses pay $14.99 month each, for basically $30.00 a month total. What about children? They don't have credit, but they do have SSN's and identity theft concerns.

    Hi Ray,

Thanks for stopping by and for your question. Identity Guard doesn't offer any special programs for children at this point.

I would agree that protecting your child's identity is every bit as important as protecting your own. If you'd like to protect your children then you might consider either the Trusted ID family plan or LifeLock. Both services offer specific services for children.

    Thanks,
    Joe
