TrustedID has come up with an interesting and unique new innovation in the world of identity theft protection. Identity Threat Score is a predictive identity rating for consumers. Identity Threat Score is based on a groundbreaking technology called IdentityScan, which analyzes a vast pool of data from hundreds of sources, including public records, credit reports, Internet searches and other proprietary databases in order to create individual risk profiles for consumers. Customers can also customize their profiles with behavior and identity footprints, which enhances IdentityScan’s analytic accuracy. Identity Threat Score provides consumers with a numerical risk score on a scale of 1-500, which will indicate how likely they are to become victims of identity theft, and then identifies specific steps that consumers should take to protect themselves, based on their individual risk profiles. According to Scott Mitic, CEO of TrustedID, “this further empowers customers to take a proactive approach to identity theft protection, rather than simply monitoring what has already occurred.”
“Consumers benefit because it’s intuitive, easy to understand, and immediately gives them a sense of whether they’re at a particularly high risk,” says Tom Wills, Senior Analyst Risk, Security and Fraud, Javelin Strategy and Research.
The benefits of the new IdentityScan service will be available to customers of TrustedID’s IDFreeze by the end of this year, and enhanced features will be available in early 2009.
