I actually had a bad experience by not updating my address with iConnectHere (voip provider) just recently. After I moved my kids got a hold of the phone and accidentally speed dialed 911. Being too young to understand what they were doing they left the phone on and the police were dispatched to my old address just to make sure there was no emergency. The fact is that you can actually move your VoIP setup anywhere as long as there is an internet connection. So your provider has no way of knowing your location so it's definitely important to update them. Thank you for blogging about this very important issue.
