Online backup programs are becoming so popular, some PC makers will soon begin shipping computers with online backup programs already built in. New Lenovo ThinkPad SL series laptops will include Mozy software, and customers will get 5 GB of storage for free for 90 days. And today, Dell announced that the new Dell Netbook will include 2 GB of free storage with Box.net, as well as a discount on premium Box.net services. Carbonite CEO David Friend recently claimed that he expects most PCs to come with an online backup service included within the next few years, and stated that the next step would be seamless backups, with space and software installations no longer an issue.
In the meantime, to learn more about Mozy, Box.net, Carbonite and other online backup services, see our reviews and comparison.
