Global bank HSBC announced last week that they lost a computer disk containing personal information of approximately 370,000 customers in the UK.

The disk was being couriered to the companies life insurance headquarters in England when it was misplaced. Customer names, dates of birth and insurance information was included on the disk. Since account numbers and address details where not exposed in the breach the risk for identity theft was greatly decreased.
