Lasell College in Newton, Massachusetts is contacting 20,000 current students, alumni and faculty after a hacker accessed computers containing personal data including names and social security numbers.

College officials said that there is no evidence that any of the personal information has been misused since the breach was discovered on February 6 of this year.  It is believed that the hacker is an employ of the college.

Impacted consumers are being notified by email and the college is taking steps to improve security measures to prevent similar instances in the future.
