Posted by Joe on March 19th, 2008
The personal information of hundreds of former Affordable Realty clients in Flint, Michigan was exposed this week when the company was evicted from their offices.
Several boxes of Affordable Realty client records which included social security numbers, bankruptcy statements and other sensitive financial records where placed in and around an unlocked dumpster. Local news reports mentioned that at least one eye witness had seen multiple individuals digging through the papers and removing them from the location.
The total number of impact clients was not readily available but any former clients of Affordable Realty should consider themselves at risk for identity theft. Please review our identity theft protection service comparison for more information.
