Mozy- if its good enough for the worlds largest corporations, its good enough for your laptop!

February 5th, 2008 - Posted by Joe

EMC, Mozy's parent company and provider of data storage services to some of the worlds largest companies, announced recently that they will be offering Mozy's online backup services to their customers.

EMC Corp. today is set to unveil a hosted backup and recovery service based on technology gained from its $76 million acquisition of Berkeley Data Systems in September. The new MozyEnterprise software-as-a-service product is the first offering in EMC's new Fortress line of hosted software. MozyEnterprise will provide subscription-based online backup and recovery services for remote PCs and remote Windows Server environments, EMC said.

While this new product is meant for large businesses it is based on the exact same technology that is used to backup the hard drives of  everyday home users.  We think that represents a big  vote of confidence in the quality of the Mozy product in general.
